Constantinus (1498)

Avtor: Tuscan Master

Classical topographers remind us that three medallions were built into the town Loggia, bearing the figures of emperors: Justinian, Justin II (565-578) and Constantine. The appearance of the Renaissance in the 15th century was connected with the elite classes, which sought the mythological origin of Koper, and with the pride of owing the thousand-year-old name of Justinopolis to the Byzantine Empire. The Renaissance is manifested in the furnishings of the most important sacral buildings and on representative administrative buildings in Mestni trg square.
