From Austria-Hungary to Yugoslavia

New part behind the Palace

The permanent exhibition on recent history shows the struggle of the Slovenes in the territory of the slovene Istria, of the Brkini and of Ilirska Bistrica for survival and their endeavour for the integration with the parent nation. It is divided into four periods, which cover the time from the constitutional period 1861 to that of the London Agreement in 1954.

Along with this leading theme each period is accompanied by the corresponding objects, documents and state symbols. In this way also basic knowledge is conveyed about the time and the system of government in this territory at a particular period of time.
