Reed violin

Reed is a material that was in the past used in the everyday life of the Istrian countryside for various purposes. It was also used to make musical instruments – a nonola, guitar and violin. It is a simple musical instrument with two strings; it is played with a sorghum stick, covered in resin, which is used by musicians. Most of the folk musicians/violinists began their musical path with such musical instruments.
