Rebec

The rebec is one of the oldest stringed instruments. It came to Europe from the Middle East. Today musicians who play early music play musical instruments that they make based on depictions in mediaeval frescoes.
The exhibited rebec was likewise made in recent times (by ethnomusicologist Dario Marušič), based on depictions in mediaeval frescoes in Slovenian Istria.
